GOVERNMENT BRANDING IDENTITY
OurSecurity, an Australian Government software system, links 12,000+ users to real-time, accurate data from its many international posts. Acting as a cohesive hub, it transforms diverse groups of individuals into unified teams, all moving in one focused direction.
Working closely with a board of government executives, project managers and third-party technicians, the identity evolved to accommodate the requirements of the users and the sensitive environment of the system.
OurSecurity’s core objective was to connect Australia’s global communities for enhanced security. The chosen identity’s universal legibility transcended cultural backgrounds, crucial for its selection over other concepts. The simplicity of its design elements instilled authority and trust, contributing to the system’s successful implementation.

These were among the most important values the system’s users identified when surveyed. This concept aimed to distil them all whilst also conveying Australia’s involvement with the wider world community.
The research showed users would be more likely to use and engage with the new system if it employed a friendly, approachable & inclusive identity rather than the harsher imagery associated with traditional security systems.
This concept used the entirety of the department’s colour scheme, each colour reflecting a distinct part of the Australian landscape. By allowing the circles to overlap, the collaborative nature of the system is realised.
